FP2030 and the CTI Exchange, in partnership with Population Council, PSI, the Reproductive Health Supplies Coalition, and FHI 360, is hosting a series of learning events, presentations, panels, and frank discussion that will engage with a range of experts to share a vision for what a user-led, context-appropriate, and gender inclusive contraceptive method mix could look like for the next generation of potential contraceptive users.

The first event in this series, Innovative Technology, User-Focused Design, was an exploration of innovative contraceptive technology and included presentations on the Nestorone®/Testosterone transdermal gel, biodegradable implants, and multipurpose prevention technologies. The second event, Innovation in Contraceptive R&D Funding, focused on funding models and strategies for facilitating contraceptive research and development. Speakers presented both trends in funder focus and encouraging progress towards support of human-centered design, as well as innovative approaches to strengthening the contraceptive technology market through strategic investment. The third event, Innovation in Contraceptive Access Strategy, discussed innovative strategies for facilitating contraceptive access. Speakers from USAID, PATH, and Market Access Africa provided a picture of what the introduction processes of the next generation of contraceptive products could be through an exploration of global decision-making, country-level advocacy, and local health system strengthening.
